Sanitize PDF
Quickly remove metadata, JavaScript, links, attachments and form actions from a PDF.
About this tool
Sanitize PDF strips the hidden extras that can leak information or carry risk. In one pass it can remove document metadata (author, software, dates, XMP), embedded JavaScript and auto-run actions, link annotations, attached files and form actions that submit or import data.
Each item is a checkbox, so you can keep links but remove scripts, for example. When the file is ready you get a short report of how many items were removed in each group. Objects that are no longer used are deleted from the file, so removed data does not linger inside it.
Sanitizing does not change what the pages look like. For a deeper clean that also targets fonts, hidden layers and more, try Deep Sanitize; to remove visible text, use Find and Redact.

Does this redact text?
No. To remove visible information use Find and Redact or Redact PDF.
