Remove Metadata
Delete the author, software, dates, XMP and other hidden properties from a PDF.
About this tool
Every PDF carries hidden properties: who wrote it, which program made it, when it was created and edited, and often an XMP packet with even more detail. Remove Metadata deletes all of it — the Info dictionary, the XMP stream, the document ID and page-level metadata and application data (PieceInfo).
Data that is removed is really gone. Unused objects are deleted from the file instead of being left behind, so the old values cannot be dug out with a text editor.
Page content is untouched. Use View Metadata to check what a file contains first, or Edit Metadata if you only want to change a few fields. Remove Metadata is part of the Archive Preparation workflow.
