About this tool
View Metadata shows everything a PDF says about itself: title, author, subject, keywords, the application that created it, creation and modification dates, PDF version, page count and page sizes, fonts used, encryption, form fields, bookmarks, attachments, JavaScript and the raw XMP metadata.
It is useful for checking a document before you publish or send it (does it reveal an author name or an internal file path?), for troubleshooting printing problems caused by odd page sizes or missing fonts, and for auditing documents for compliance.
The report can be downloaded as JSON. The file is analysed entirely in your browser.

Yes — use Edit Metadata, or Remove Metadata to strip it entirely.
What is XMP?
An XML block inside the PDF that stores extended metadata. Some programs keep different values there than in the basic properties.
Why are some fields empty?
