About this tool

OCR PDF turns scanned documents and photographed pages into searchable PDFs. Each page is read with optical character recognition and the recognised words are placed as an invisible text layer exactly over the image, so you can search, select and copy text while the page still looks identical.

Thai and English are recognised together by default, which suits Thai government forms, invoices and contracts that mix both scripts. Higher resolution gives better accuracy on small print; pages that already contain real text can be skipped automatically.

Recognition runs on your own device with Tesseract — no cloud service ever sees your documents. The first run downloads the language data once; after that it works offline. A plain-text file of everything recognised is included as well.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is it?

Clean, straight scans at 250–300 DPI usually give very good results. Skewed, blurry or handwritten pages are harder — try Deskew PDF first.

Does it change how my pages look?

No. The text layer is invisible; the page image is left exactly as it was.

Why is the first run slow?

The OCR engine and language data (a few MB) load the first time. They are cached for later runs.

Is my document uploaded?

Never. OCR runs entirely in your browser.
