About this tool

Unlock PDF removes the open password and every permission restriction from a PDF, as long as you know the password. Enter it once and you get a clean copy that opens, prints and copies freely — handy for archives, merging or further editing.

The file is decrypted entirely in your browser. The password is used only to open the document and is forgotten straight away; nothing is uploaded. Leftover encryption data is removed from the output so other tools see an ordinary PDF.

This tool does not guess or crack passwords. If you only have restrictions (no open password), Unlock PDF removes them too.
