Spine & Cover Maker
Generate a print-ready book spine or full wrap-around cover sized from the page count.
About this tool
Spine & Cover Maker calculates the spine width of a printed book from its page count and paper thickness, then draws a spine strip or a full wrap cover (back + spine + front) with bleed and fold marks.
Add the book PDF to take the page count and title from it, or just type the numbers. Choose the trim size, bleed, colours and whether spine text reads top-to-bottom (English convention) or bottom-to-top.
Typical paper: 80 gsm ≈ 0.10 mm, 100 gsm ≈ 0.12 mm per sheet. Always confirm the exact spine width with your printer before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
How is the spine width calculated?
Sheets (pages ÷ 2) × paper thickness, plus the cover board thickness on both sides.
Do I need a PDF?
No — enter the page count and title and run without a file.
What is bleed?
Extra colour beyond the trim line so no white edge shows after cutting. 3 mm is standard.
