N-up PDF
Print 2, 4, 6, 9 or 16 pages on one sheet.
About this tool
N-up PDF places several pages on each sheet: 2-up for reading two pages side by side, 4-up or 6-up for handouts, 9-up and 16-up for proof sheets. It saves paper and makes long documents easier to review.
Choose the sheet size (or keep the original), orientation, margins, the gap between pages and whether to draw a border around each page. Pages can flow left-to-right then down (Z) or top-to-bottom then across (N). With automatic orientation the layout that makes pages largest is picked.
Pages are placed as vector content, so text stays sharp at any zoom and the file stays compact.

Frequently asked questions
Will the pages be readable?
2-up and 4-up are comfortable on A4; 9-up and 16-up are best for overviews or larger sheets like A3.
What is Z versus N order?
Z fills a row left to right, then moves down. N fills a column top to bottom, then moves right.
Does it keep text searchable?
Yes. Pages are embedded as vectors, not images.
