Deep Sanitize
Remove JavaScript, embedded files, form actions, metadata, hidden layers and other hidden content from a PDF.
About this tool
A PDF can carry far more than the pages you see: scripts that run when it opens, actions that submit form data to a server, embedded files, the author's name and editing software, hidden layers, thumbnails of earlier versions and comments. Deep Sanitize removes all of that in one pass.
Choose what to remove from the checklist. JavaScript and auto-run actions are stripped everywhere — document, pages, annotations and form fields; launch and import actions go too. Embedded files and multimedia are deleted, metadata and XMP are wiped, and layers that are hidden by default are removed together with their content. Orphaned data is then purged so nothing lingers in the file.
The report counts what was removed in each category. Use it before publishing a document, before forwarding a file from an unknown sender, or as part of a records-release process.

Frequently asked questions
Will the pages look different?
No, unless you choose to remove comments or links. Visible page content is kept.
What's the difference from Sanitize PDF?
Sanitize PDF is a quick clean. Deep Sanitize also covers form actions, hidden layers, thumbnails, multimedia and XMP on individual objects, and reports counts.
Are forms still fillable?
Yes. Fields stay; only submit/reset actions are removed, so the form can't send data anywhere.
